“Hilarious! ... Vanessa Hidary seamlessly blends the multicultural hip-hop of her New York youth with her strong Sephardic/ Mizrahi heritage in a cutting-edge, spoken-word show.”

Inspired by her experiences as a Sephardic/Mizrahi Jew with close friends from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, actress/poet/playwright/native New Yorker Vanessa Hidary wrote "Culture Bandit," a solo show that chronicles her coming of age during the golden age of Hip-Hop and her dedication to fostering understanding and friendship between all people.

Vanessa is a member of the troupe “Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad,” and is featured on HBO’s Def Poetry and in the film “The Tribe” which has been selected for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.
